EDDs in Action: Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission
This installment of the EDDs in Action video series showcases the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission (CSPDC), an Economic Development District (EDD) serving five counties in Virginia. In this video, you’ll see how CSPDC works alongside local partners and businesses to strengthen communities and expand economic opportunity through investments in site readiness, workforce training, business development, and placemaking.
The video highlights CSPDC’s collaborative approach and the lasting partnerships it has built with organizations such as Shenandoah Valley Airport, Shenandoah Valley Center for Advanced Learning, and the Virginia Innovation Accelerator. These relationships have helped bring new funding and resources to the region. As CSPDC Executive Director Ann Cundy explains, “We are not just the grant writers and grant administrators. We’re all planners. And so when you have that deep and ongoing knowledge of what [local partners] identified as their vision for their community, that makes us much better at matching them with the best funding opportunity.”
