Dear NADO members,
We wanted to provide an update on the progress of EDA reauthorization.
Last week, the Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA), which includes the nearly 100-page bill that would reauthorize the Economic Development Administration, passed in the House with overwhelming bipartisan support. There were 399 votes in favor of the bill, and only 18 votes against it.
The WRDA bill is on the Senate calendar for consideration at 3:00 pm today, Monday, 12/16, and the Senate vote is anticipated to occur tomorrow.
We will provide another update to the membership once the Senate vote has occurred.
