Salary Range:  $20.20-25.25 Hourly

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is currently accepting applications for a SENIOR PLANNER position.  The primary function of the Senior Planner is responsible, professional, technical, and administrative work involving long range comprehensive planning activities as well as related activities for the County and local municipalities.  This includes technical and inspection services related to development review as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Code, other related codes, ordinances, policies and procedures.  Provides staff support for the Planning Commission.

Minimum Training and Experience:

  • Graduation for an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree, Urban Planning, or a closely related field such as government, law, engineering, design, economics or social science, geography, or statistics;
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in the enforcement of codes, laws or regulations, professional experience in urban and regional planning, including three years in supervisory capacity.
  • Must have valid Florida Driver’s License at the date of hire and maintain said license while employed in this position.
