NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

New Executive Directors at the 400+ Economic Development Districts face a variety of challenges when starting in their role. While each organization and region are different, there are many common difficulties and the Community of Practice (CoP) is a perfect opportunity to bring this group of individuals together. Through the EDD CoP, NADO has continued its work developing resources to assist New Executive Directors. This group is targeted at Executive Directors who have been on the job for five or fewer years.

These resources include the following:

QUARTERLY CALLS

NADO organizes quarterly calls on topics of interest to New Directors. The calls feature a guest speaker(s), usually an experienced Executive Director, on topics which have included the CEDS, Organization Budgeting, Advocacy and more. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage with the speaker and their fellow Executive Directors.

LINKEDIN

The New Executive Directors Linkedin group allows members to connect virtually, ask each other questions, and share ideas and resources. Email Dion Thompson-Davoli at [email protected] if you have trouble joining.
