The Purchase Area Development District (PurADD) with headquarters in Mayfield, Kentucky, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director.

Located in the far-west Kentucky, the PurADD acts as a forum for local and regional leaders to determine priorities for the eight-county area in which their individual communities are an integral part. The eight counties and their municipalities that make up the PurADD are Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Marshall, and McCracken.

PurADD services include programs for human support, community infrastructure planning, economic development, and special projects – - the blending of these offerings provides a well-rounded approach to meeting the current and future needs of the region.

The successful candidate will be expected to partner, advise, and lead the PurADD Board of Directors and other regional leaders to enhance the PurADD strategic direction, focus, and offerings on important public policy issues affecting the region and its member governments. The position serves as the District’s representative at the regional, state and federal level. The position is responsible for managing and supervising the professional staff of the District.

The candidate should have knowledge of public administration, social service delivery, grant writing and grant administration, community and transportation planning, and, community economic development. The candidate will have knowledge of the principles and practices of intergovernmental relations. The candidate’s record will reflect the ability and experience in directing and supervising a staff of professional employees and administrative personnel. The candidate will possess excellent communication skills through oral and writing means including social media. The candidate will possess thorough knowledge and understanding of the function of local, state and federal governments. Their record will demonstrate the ability to build consensus among officials and partners to further the mission of the PurADD and its member governments and have the ability to market and promote the PurADD programs and services in the region. The candidate must possess the knowledge and understanding of regionalism and have the ability to work regionally. The candidate’s record will reflect experience in budgeting and financial management of a public organization.

Compensation for the position will be competitive based on qualifications and experience.
