Why Become a NADO Member?

When you become a NADO member, you gain access to resources, tools, and information to help enhance and support your work. Your NADO membership gives you opportunities to network in person and virtually with thought leaders, peer organizations, and important stakeholders in the regional development realm.

Benefits all NADO members receive, regardless of membership level:

  • Targeted advocacy support and resources designed to amplify the importance of federal funding and programs that bolster community development, economic development, and programs and policies specific to RDOs

    • To be eligible for a Standard NADO Membership, you must be directly affiliated with a Regional Development Organization (RDO)

Affiliate NADO Membership

  • Levels of Affiliate NADO Membership: 
    • Associate and Partner
  • Eligibility for Affiliate NADO Membership
    • To be eligible for an Affiliate NADO Membership, you must be affiliated with a non-RDO organization or entity

What is an RDO?

RDOs are multi-jurisdictional, quasi-governmental organizations that provide planning and community development services to local governments.

The term RDO refers to a broad category of entities that may include:

  • Councils of Governments
  • Area Development Districts
  • Regional Development Commissions
  • Regional Planning Commissions
  • Regional Councils
  • Planning and Development Districts
  • Association of Governments
  • Economic Development Councils
