White House Announces Initiative to Boost Rural Exports

Today, the Administration announced, through the White House Rural Council in coordination with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Appalachian Regional Commission, the Delta Regional Authority, the Small Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank, and the Office of the United States Trade Representative a new Made in Rural America (http://www NULL.whitehouse NULL.gov/the-press-office/2014/02/07/fact-sheet-opportunity-all-establishing-new-made-rural-america-export-an) export and investment initiative.  This initiative is charged with connecting more rural businesses to export information and assistance through a nine month strategic process.  Highlights of the initiative include hosting five regional forums for rural businesses, training Agriculture Department staff in all 50 states to advise on export opportunities, and sponsor a national conference to highlight successful projects.
