The Senate has taken no further action on the fiscal year (FY) 2017 Commerce-Justice-Science Appropriations bill (S. 2837) after sidelining it last week. While some in leadership have said they hope to bring the bill back, no assurances have been made. Whether the possible amendment to eliminate funding for the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) floated by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) will surface is unclear.
