This week, the Senate began consideration of the fiscal year (FY) 2017 Commerce-Justice-Science Appropriations bill. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has offered an amendment to the bill that would eliminate funding for the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), but it is not yet clear when the amendment may be considered on the Senate floor. Consideration of the bill will stretch into next week, when the Senate is expected to consider two amendments related to firearm regulation. NADO will continue to provide updates on amendments related to EDA funding.
