Senate Approves Its First FY2016 Spending Bill

Posted on: November 13th, 2015 by NADO Admin

This week, the Senate approved its fiscal year (FY) 2016 Military Construction-Veterans Affairs appropriations bill by a vote of 93 to 0.  This marks the first spending bill considered by the Senate this year, ending an impasse that began in June when Senate Democrats threatened to filibuster FY2016 appropriations bills over their spending levels.  The Military Construction-Veterans Affairs appropriations bill will likely serve as the vehicle for a FY2016 omnibus spending bill.  Congress faces a deadline of December 11 for action on FY2016 appropriations, when the current continuing resolution (CR) expires.
