Senate Appropriations Committee Approves THUD Bill; Funds CDBG at $3 Billion

This week, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved its version of the fiscal year (FY) 2015 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Appropriations bill.  The bill funds U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and U.S. Department Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs at $52 billion for FY2015.  The bill funds the HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program at $3.02 billion for FY2015, which is $200 million above the President’s request and level with the current FY2014 funding level. The funding is also level with the House proposed level. The bill now heads to the Senate floor for consideration. Floor time has yet to be determined.
