Call for Nominations: 2018 Congressional Partnership Awards 

Recognize members of Congress for their outstanding work! 

NADO is accepting nominations for the 2018 Congressional Partnership Award which recognizes members of Congress who have led and supported regional development programs and services.

Criteria for awards is based upon the senator or representative’s leadership and support of regional development priorities such as transportation, workforce development, and rural development.  Awards will be available to be presented by NADO members during Capitol Hill visits during the 2018 NADO – DDAA Washington Conference (March 18 – 21) or during visits in the member’s district or state.  Nominations may be submitted by individual member organizations or state associations of regional councils/regional development organizations.

A fee of $75 will be applied for each award.  If a nomination is submitted by a state association or more than one NADO member, the cost will be divided among the nominating organizations.  The fee covers the actual cost of the award.  NADO will provide a press release and background information on the award to assist in promotion efforts.

About the Awards Program

Created in 2000, this biennial awards component of the Washington Policy Conference, the NADO Congressional Partnership Awards Program is a valuable tool for recognizing members of Congress who exhibit outstanding leadership and support of federal regional development programs. Nominations may be submitted by individual member organizations or by state associations of regional development organizations.

Presentations are typically made by NADO members during Capitol Hill visits at the Washington Policy Conference (the NADO – DDAA Washington Conference in 2018) or during events and meetings in the congressional district or state.

Criteria for Award Selection

Nominees will be evaluated based on their support of NADO policies and priorities in addition to cooperation with regional development organizations in their district or state. Award winners will announced in NADO News prior to the NADO – DDAA Washington Conference. NADO members make award presentations to selected lawmakers during Capitol Hill visits during the Washington Policy Conference or during meetings in the congressional district or state. Limit of one award per member of Congress.
