Registration, Hotel Deadlines Extended to 11/14 for National Rural Transportation Conference

Registration is now open for the nation’s only annual training event focused on rural and small metropolitan transportation professionals.  The National Rural Transportation Peer Learning Conference will occur December 3 – 5, 2014 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Be sure to register by November 14 to receive the early bird discounted rate of $295.

This year’s conference has plenty of training opportunities developed for both rural and small metropolitan transportation professionals, including newer and more experienced transportation planning and service delivery staff.  The conference is expected to bring in over 100 professionals from regional and rural planning and development organizations, small metropolitan planning organizations, state department of transportation planning staff, transit operators, local officials, stakeholders, and other transportation advocates and partners.

The agenda covers many timely topics, including:

  • GIS and technology
  • Emerging planning models
  • Regional transit
  • Public sector collaboration
  • Future of mobility
  • Bicycle, pedestrian, and transportation alternatives
  • Performance measurement
  • Implementing MAP-21
  • Planning for movement of goods and people
  • Inclusive outreach and addressing Title VI requirements

The conference is sponsored by the Appalachian Regional Commission, Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations, Brazos Valley Council of Governments, Development District Association of Appalachia, Federal Highway Administration, Ohio Department of Transportation, National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) and NADO Research Foundation, NADO’s RPO America, and other regional planning partners.
