RDO Executive Director Dawn Keeley Testifies Before Senate Agriculture Subcommittee on Regional Strategies in Rural Economic Development

This week, Dawn Keeley, Executive Director of the Red River Regional Council (https://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/RedRiverRegionalCouncil) located in Grafton, North Dakota, testified before the U.S. Senate Agriculture Subcommittee on Jobs, Rural Economic Growth and Energy Innovation (http://www NULL.ag NULL.senate NULL.gov/).  Keeley testified on the recent legislative changes made in the 2014 farm bill which promote rural development projects that involve regional planning and coordination at the local level.  She also stressed the continued important role that federal economic development programs play in strengthening the quality of life in rural communities and small towns in her region of North Dakota. Keeley was welcomed by Subcommittee Chairwoman Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and Ranking Member Sen. Mike Johanns (R-NE).
