President’s FY2018 Budget Request to Reportedly Include Cuts to CDBG and HOME Investment Partnerships Programs

News reports this week indicate that the Trump administration is considering $6 billion in cuts from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s budget, including complete elimination of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and HOME Investment Partnerships Program.  The administration’s slimmed-down fiscal year (FY) 2018 budget proposal is expected on March 16.  The administration has announced that the budget will include $54 billion in cuts to domestic spending with those funds shifted to the military.
