On April 28, Tim Ware, Executive Director of the George Washington Regional Commission, NADO Past President and current board member, spoke on behalf of NADO at a Capitol Hill briefing on the importance of the HUD-CDBG Program to rural communities and regions across the United States.  The CDBG Coalition, which hosted the briefing, consists of national associations (including NADO) representing local elected officials, housing and community development professionals, planners, economic development entities, and a wide array of non-profit organizations.  The CDBG program provides critical funding to improve their local communities and serve their most vulnerable residents.  Local governments use the flexibility of CDBG to partner with the private and non-profit sectors to address economic development, infrastructure and human service needs.
