The Flint Hills Regional Council (FHRC) is a membership organization comprised of counties and communities throughout the central and east central regions of Kansas. Working with public, private, non-profit and education sectors staff serve to: coordinate the exchange of ideas; identify beneficial opportunities, seek resolution for regional concerns, and promote an ongoing dialogue between all residents in the region. Historically, FHRC has received significant Federal funding from, among others, the Economic Development Administration, Department of Defense, and the Environmental Protection Agency. The organization has begun expanding its resource outreach to the State of Kansas and a broad set of private foundations. The work of FHRC is designed to promote the economic development, quality of life, and global competitiveness of the region.

Work tasks and duties include, but are not limited to, implementing the US Economic Development Administration’s Cares and Planning Partnership grants, federal grant performance reports, budget management, grant research, writing, and administration. Additionally, in the team framework at FHRC, the incumbent will assist, plan, and draft requests for proposals, monitor timelines, budgets, and successful completion of the contract work. The person selected will play an important and critical role in the region.
