The Director of Community Development provides executive leadership for the varied functions of the Community Development Agency under direction of the Board of Supervisors.
The Director is ultimately responsible for the work of the Community Development Agency and the four divisions, including: Administration, Planning, Environmental Health Services, and Building and Safety. Marin County is seeking an innovative, collaborative and team-oriented Director of Community Development. The ideal candidate is a high-level thinker who is strategic, proactive, and understands long-term community and housing planning issues. Strong candidates can utilize the talent of their personnel to achieve excellent program outcomes. The next Director of Community Development will be politically astute yet remain apolitical, allowing them to approach problem solving with impartiality and forge productive working relationships with those around them. The ideal candidate is creative with the ability to mentor and guide staff while being responsive and approachable. The salary range for the Director of Community Development $217,110 to $239,346. Placement within this range is dependent on experience and qualifications. The County also offers an excellent benefits package.
