Congressional “Dear Colleague letters” were sent in support of $3.3 billion in funding for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in fiscal year (FY) 2015 to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (T-HUD) Appropriations Committee leaders in the House and Senate. The administration is requesting $2.8 billion for the program and would represent a $200 million cut. Click here to view the House “Dear Colleague” on CDBG. Yesterday, the House T-HUD Appropriations Subcommittee held a hearing on HUD’s budget. Mark-up of their T-HUD appropriations bill is likely to occur in late May or early June. Last week, the Senate T-HUD Appropriations Subcommittee held a hearing on HUD’s budget respectively and is likely to mark-up a bill in the next few months.
