This week, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies approved their fiscal year (FY) 2016 bill by a voice vote.  The bill includes funding for all Department of Commerce agencies, including the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).  The bill includes level funding for EDA: $213 million for economic development assistance programs and $37 million for salaries and expenses.  A more complete breakdown of programmatic funding, including recommendations for planning grants, economic adjustment assistance, and public works will be made available when the bill comes before the full House Appropriations Committee for consideration.  No date has been set for full committee consideration of the bill.
