House Leadership Postpones Consideration of Continuing Resolution

Posted on: September 13th, 2013 by NADO Admin

This week the U.S. House of Representatives leadership unveiled a draft short-term continuing resolution or “CR” to fund federal programs at current spending level through December 15. The current federal fiscal year (FY 2013) ends on September 30 and Congress must take action to extend funding for federal programs to avoid a government shutdown. The draft CR, H.J. Res. 59, continues funding at an annual level of $986.3 billion. The House was planning to consider the CR on September 12, however divisions within the Republican caucus over efforts to block funding for the 2010 Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148) in FY 2014 have led to a postponement of consideration of the CR.

NADO legislative staff will continue to closely monitor these funding and budget negotiations as they evolve.
