House FY2015 Commerce-Justice-Science Appropriations Bill Expected on House Floor After Memorial Day; EDA Funding Amendments Likely

Posted on: May 23rd, 2014 by NADO Admin

The House of Representatives will consider the fiscal year (FY) 2015 Commerce-Justice-Science  (CJS) Appropriations bill on the House floor upon returning from a brief Memorial Day recess on May 28.  The CJS bill includes funding for the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).  In previous years, there have been attempts to cut or eliminate funding for EDA through amendments to the CJS bill on the House floor and it is likely there will be similar efforts this year.  We encourage NADO members to contact their member(s) of Congress to ask them to support the FY2015 CJS Appropriations bill and to oppose any amendments offered to eliminate or cut funding for EDA.  Click here to read an action alert sent to NADO members this week on FY2015 EDA funding.

NADO legislative staff held a webinar on the status of FY2015 funding for EDA on May 14.  This webinar provided information on EDA program funding levels in the House FY2015 CJS Appropriations bill as well as important information on possible House floor amendments impacting EDA funding and advocacy tips for reaching out to your member(s) of Congress.  Click here to view a recording of the webinar.
