House Budget Committee Approves FY2015 Budget Resolution

Posted on: April 4th, 2014 by NADO Admin

This week, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) unveiled his fiscal year (FY) 2015 budget proposal. The House budget blueprint adheres to the top-line discretionary spending level of $1.014 trillion for FY2015 agreed to by Congress in December 2013. However, after next year, the budget proposes to shift more than $50 billion a year from domestic to defense spending and restructure entitlement programs in an effort to eliminate the federal deficit. On April 2, the House Budget Committee approved the budget resolution. The Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), does not plan to release a Senate budget resolution for FY2015 since the FY2015 discretionary spending limit was set by December’s budget deal.
