This week, the House of Representatives debated the fiscal year (FY) 2015 Commerce-Justice-Science  (CJS) Appropriations bill on the House floor.  The CJS bill includes funding for the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).  Representative Mike Pompeo (R-KS) offered an amendment to eliminate funding for EDA, totaling $247.5 million, in the FY2015 CJS bill.  The amendment was soundly defeated by a vote of 129 to 280.  A list of how each member of the House voted on the Pompeo amendment can be viewed here (http://clerk NULL.house NULL.gov/evs/2014/roll243 NULL.xml).  If your member of Congress voted against the amendment, we encourage you to send a “thank you” message for supporting EDA funding.  The House passed the FY2015 CJS bill by a vote of 321 to 87.  Action now turns to the Senate where the CJS Appropriations Subcommittee is expected to consider their version of the bill on June 5.
