The House Appropriations Committee is set to begin work on their fiscal year (FY) 2016 spending bills next week with the Military Construction-Veteran’s Affairs and Energy and Water appropriations bills coming before their respective subcommittees for consideration.  House Republican leadership has stated the bills are likely to reach the House floor the week of April 27.  Under the budget resolution passed in both the House and Senate in March, discretionary spending for FY2016 is largely held at current levels.  The allocation for the Military Construction-Veteran’s Affairs and Energy and Water appropriations bills is not expected to change significantly from FY2015 levels.
