On April 30, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science (CJS) approved by voice vote the fiscal year (FY) 2015 CJS Appropriations bill.  The CJS bill funds all U.S. Department of Commerce programs, including the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).  The bill provides $247.5 million total for EDA (a $1 million increase from the FY2014 enacted level), with $210.5 million for economic development assistance programs and $37 million for salaries and expenses.  Specific programmatic funding levels will be available when the bill is considered next week by the full House Appropriations Committee.  NADO will provide details on EDA funding levels as soon as information becomes available and will update members on action taken by the House Appropriations Committee as well as information about possible House floor amendments impacting EDA funding.
