Update (8/14): The speakers' presentation materials and a recording of the webinar are available here: www.nado.org/va-performance-webinar.

Join the NADO Research Foundation for a free webinar on Tuesday, August 13, 2 – 3 p.m. EST on Virginia’s experience with incorporating performance measurement into its rural regional long-range plans. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the 20 regional-level planning district commissions (PDCs) throughout the commonwealth have partnered to evaluate the state’s rural transportation system and to recommend a range of transportation improvements that best satisfy existing and future needs. Register online here.

These regional transportation plans serve as the building blocks for the 2035 State Highway Plan and are intended to complement the state’s metropolitan transportation plans.

Each regional plan incorporates both statewide and more local goals and objectives, and the PDCs used consistent metrics to assess the performance of the regions’ roadways and recommend specific improvements for safety and capacity that may be considered in the future.

Webinar speakers will include:

  • Darrel Johnson, Virginia DOT
  • Elijah Sharp, New River Valley PDC

Register for free at https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/278408482.  1 AICP CM credit is available.

The speakers' presentation materials and a recording of the webinar are available here: www.nado.org/va-performance-webinar.  This webinar is presented by the NADO Research Foundation under a cooperative agreement with the Federal Highway Administration.
