OMB's Super Circular: What RDO Leaders and Staff Need to Know will occur on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. (Eastern).

This is the first webinar in a three part series offered by NADO  and aimed at helping executive directors, finance officers and other  staff learn how the new OMB Uniform Guidance, also referred to as the Super Circular and OMB Grant Guidelines, will impact your organizations.Click here to register for this webinar.

You must register for each webinar separately; there is a nominal fee to attend ($59 for NADO members, $99 for non-NADO members).  You will receive notification of your registration and a special password with instructions to access the webinar two business days before the scheduled event.

The federal government is in the midst of implementing the most far reaching set of changes to grants management policies in over 40 years. The impact on RDOs is huge. The new rules affect not only how federal agencies will interact with your organization directly but also how state agencies and other “pass-through entities” will make and oversee subawards you receive.  And they instruct you how to go about handling those duties when your organization is the awarding agency. Significant changes have been made in longstanding policy areas affecting grant application, award administration, and audit. As a result, there are some new vulnerabilities to questioned and disallowed costs and other sanctions. OMB's Super Circular: What RDO Leaders and Staff Need to Know, will highlight the key changes in the federal requirements in layman’s terms and will provide an awareness of how to handle them from a position of strength.

OMB’s New Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements:  A Deeper Dive for Finance and Administrative Staff will occur on Monday, September 21, 2015, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. (Eastern).  It will build on the previous session and provide more detailed treatment of those aspects of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) “Super Circular” on which finance and administrative staff will need a strong working knowledge.  It will drill down on major policy changes affecting internal controls, subrecipient management and monitoring, time and effort reporting, and cost allowability.  And it will highlight areas where policies and procedures need to be reviewed and perhaps strengthened to create an “audit ready” posture for your organization.

Sorting Out OMB’s Revised Policies on Indirect Cost Recovery is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2015, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. (Eastern).  One of the major areas of policy change brought about under the federal grant reform package rolled out by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) late last year involves recovery of indirect costs. There is probably no area of federal fund management that is the subject of more misunderstanding than that one.  Unfortunately, some of the welcome changes that OMB crafted to try to address misconceptions and misapplication of previous policies have created new questions and concerns.  This webinar will get to the bottom of the letter and intent of the new policies from the unique perspective of regional organizations.  And it will identify strategies and tactics for how to apply them and assure that the full cost of implementing and administering your federal awards can be recovered.
