Join your regional economic development peers for up-to-the minute legislative updates, sessions and discussions on relevant topics, thought-provoking plenary speakers, visits to your representatives on Capitol Hill, and peer-to-peer learning and networking.
Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development (USDA) Anne Hazlett will speak during the conference; she is scheduled to address the audience during the plenary luncheon on Monday, March 19.
Other featured speakers include Rick Klein, Political Director for ABC News, and Geoff Skelley, Associate Editor of Sabato’s Crystal Ball at UVA's Center for Politics. Klein will offer his analysis of the current political environment during the closing plenary on Wednesday (March 21). Skelley will provide insight into the 2018 mid-term elections prior to the hill visits on Tuesday (March 20).
As in previous years, we will provide transportation for conference attendees to Capitol Hill for NADO on the Hill on Tuesday, March 20. We encourage all conference attendees to take advantage of your time in Washington and visit with your members of Congress. Senate and House calendars tend to fill up quickly, so if you haven't already made arrangements to meet with your respective senators and representatives, please do so as early as possible.
Capping off the day of Hill visits, NADO will be hosting an afternoon reception for congressional members and staff.
For more information, contact NADO Director of Government Relations and Legislative Affairs Susan Howard ([email protected] or 202.624.8590) or Legislative Associate Josh Shumaker ([email protected] or 202.624.8482).
The conference will be held at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Arlington, VA.
