The 2017 SWREDA Conference, Navigating the New Norm, was developed by SWREDA in partnership with the NADO Research Foundation, and supported in part by EDA grant(s).

Conference topics will address local food systems/food security and economic development, freight mobility and business development, linking the gaps between workforce and economic development, creative strategies for achieving innovation, managing organizational culture change, economic diversification, managing information in the digital world, strengthening regional resilience, and successful development strategies at the regional level.

Special events will include a luncheon keynote from EDA Deputy Assistant Secretary for Regional Affairs Dennis Alvord; recognition of 10 Star of the Southwest award winning projects from the five states served by the EDA Austin Regional Office (during the opening plenary AND during a special reception at the end of the first day of the conference); presentations and updates from EDA staff about EDA programs and Grants Online; and a special legislative update from NADO Executive Director Joe McKinney.
