Posted on: June 28th, 2013 by NADO Admin

NADO joined a coalition of national organizations representing local elected officials, state and local affordable housing and community development practitioners, and non-profit agencies on a letter to House Appropriators expressing opposition to the proposed FY2014 funding for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program in the House Appropriations Committee approved version of the FY2014 Transportation and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill. The bill includes $1.6 billion for the Community Development Block Grant program for FY2014, which would be a $1.4 billion cut from the FY2013 level if enacted. CDBG is currently funded at $3.07 billion for FY2013, which includes cuts from sequestration. The proposed House funding level for CDBG is equal to when the program was first enacted in 1974.
