Budget Conferees Hold Informal Discussions; Will Meet Next on November 13

With the House in recess this week, members of the House-Senate conference committee charged with reaching a deal on fiscal year 2014 spending by December 13 have beenĀ  holding discussions behind the scenes. Among the topics that are being discussed are proposals to give federal agencies more flexibility to manage sequestration cuts, changes to entitlement programs, and a framework for tax reform. The conference committee is scheduled to meet again on November 13.
