Bipartisan Brownfields Reauthorization Legislation Introduced in Senate

Posted on: June 26th, 2015 by NADO Admin

Recently, a bipartisan group in the Senate lead by Senators Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Edward Markey (D-MA) re-introduced the Brownfields Utilization, Investment, and Local Development Act of 2015 (BUILD Act) to reauthorize the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Brownfields program.  The bill includes a NADO-supported provision that, for the first time, will allow EPA Brownfields grant recipients the ability to use up to 8 percent of their grant to cover administrative costs.  The BUILD Act also authorizes technical assistance for small communities and rural areas.  Click here (http://www NULL.epw NULL.senate NULL.gov/public/index NULL.cfm?FuseAction=PressRoom NULL.PressReleases&ContentRecord_id=15C641C3-0013-975F-A9F6-7FE921B132CF) to view a press release from the bill’s sponsors.  Click here for a NADO fact sheet on the BUILD Act and sample letter you can send to your Senators to ask for their support.
