The Trump administration has transmitted to the House and Senate Appropriations committees its recommended funding levels for fiscal year (FY) 2017 spending bills. The proposed funding levels would reduce spending by $17.9 billion for the remainder of the fiscal year, May 1 to September 30. Currently, the government is operating on a continuing resolution (CR) set to expire on April 28. Proposed cuts to agencies include:
EDA: -$97 million
FEMA: -$90 million
DOL: -$676 million
HUD: -$1.67 billion
DOT: -$946 million
