“Building Stronger Economies in Appalachian Coal Country” Newsletter Now Available

Posted on: January 11th, 2017 by Brett Schwartz

The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Research Foundation (http://www NULL.nado NULL.org/) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) (http://www NULL.naco NULL.org) have just launched “Building Stronger Economies in Appalachian Coal Country,” a curated bi-weekly e-newsletter.  NADO and NACo are collaborating on a POWER technical assistance grant generously provided by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) (http://www NULL.arc NULL.gov/).  Under this new grant, NADO and NACo are continuing to provide a suite of resources and technical assistance to select Appalachian communities and regions as they develop locally-grown, place-based plans to support economic development and improved quality of life.

The newsletter will be delivered every other Wednesday and will contain news about economic diversification efforts in Appalachia, resources and funding opportunities, and upcoming events and trainings.  Click here to read the January 11, 2017 issue (PDF).
