On Wednesday, February 2, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Mica (R-FL) announced locations for a series of hearings and public forums relating to reauthorization of the federal surface transportation programs. The current authorization, SAFETEA-LU, expired in September 2009 and has been subject to a series of short-term extensions since then
