Since 1997, more than 50 regional planning and development organizations across the nation have received financial assistance from the EPA to assist local communities with brownfields cleanup, assessment and redevelopment.
In addition, numerous other regions have partnered with the Economic Development Administration, Appalachian Regional Commission and various state agencies to conduct brownfields work.
The NADO Research Foundation continues to publish comprehensive "best practices" based on brownfields initiatives undertaken by regional development organizations around the country. Below are just a few examples of NADO members who have had success with brownfields redevelopment.
