Obstacles still remain to the cleanup and redevelopment of brownfields in rural areas, but many rural areas are overcoming them, according to a new report recently released by the National Association of Development Organizations Research Foundation.

Partnership Promotes Business and Forest Health
To reduce devastating forest fires like those that swept the country in 2000, the US Forest Service has funded a pilot program that supports existing revolving loan funds, placing an emphasis on forest products small businesses in the Four Corners region of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.
