Community Development Specialist
South Central Ozark Council of Governments (Pomona, MO)
August 24 - The South Central Ozark Council of Governments is seeking a Community
Development Specialist. Under the supervision of the executive director, assistant
director or planning and development manager, the Community Development Specialist is
responsible for providing technical expertise to communities in applications, administration
of grant and loan programs and special projects.
Responsibilities will include such tasks as: providing information and technical
assistance to member governments in meeting state and federal requirements; providing
information and educational programs on current problems facing local government; assisting
in the application preparation and administration of grants, loan programs, research
projects and other programs; coordinating regional programs including joint purchases
and workshops; and other duties.
Candidates should have graduated from an accredited college or university, with preference
given to major course work in the fields of public administration, business administration,

Executive Director
August 11, the Wasco Housing Authority (Wasco, California) is seeking an Executive Director. Applicants must have a track record of success and demonstrated leadership in providing public housing programs and services.
The successful candidate will have experience in USDA and HUD programs, planning and policy development, fiscal and program management.
A bachelor's degree is required and 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in government housing programs, community development programs, or means-tested assistance programs for low-income groups. Valid CA Driver's License and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and HUD/USDA electronic systems required.

Communications Specialist/Project Manager

MPO Director
Western Arkansas Planning and Development District (Fort Smith, AR)
July 21 - The Western Arkansas PDD is seeking an MPO Director for the Bi-State Metropolitan
Planning Organization. A Bachelors Degree is required. A Masters Degree in city or regional
planning, geography, or related field is preferred. Organizational skills, technical
writing, fluency in personal computers, word processing, spreadsheet, data base and other
applications are necessary as is the ability to prepare and present written and oral
presentations. Applicant must be able to meet deadlines and other time demands
relative to project/task development and completion. The MPO Director must be proficient in
administrative tasks, report preparation, and program management. The position requires a
current understanding of rules and regulations of the US Department of Transportation and
more specifically the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration
relative to the various components of transportation planning, freight planning,
transportation safety planning, and bicycle/pedestrian planning. The applicant must be
creative and possess interpersonal relationship skills and be able to generate and
conduct work in a team based environment. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000.
