KATHY QUILLINAN NOTHSTINE, PROGRAM MANAGER
In 2010, Kathy Nothstine joined the NADO Research Foundation as program
manager. Nothstine works with NADO's transportation programs, including the
Center for Transportation Advancement and Regional Development and RPO America.
Before joining NADO, Nothstine worked as a community planner with a planning and
design consulting firm in Orlando, Florida. In this role, she helped to create
land use programs and site plans for real estate development proposals, represented
clients in negotiations with state and local government agencies, and developed
policies and plans for municipal governments. She worked on redevelopment plans
and long-term comprehensive plans, drafted land development regulations and design
guidelines, organized design charrettes, and coordinated planning efforts with
developers, public sector planning staff, elected officials, and citizen groups.
While at the International Economic Development Council, Nothstine completed
research on small town revitalization and analyzed smart growth techniques as a
way to promote economic development. She also served as an AmeriCorps member with
New Jersey Community Water Watch, a project of NJPIRG, where she trained residents
in urban areas to address water quality issues in their communities by organizing
river cleanup events and implementing environmental education programs.
Nothstine received her Master of City Planning degree from the University of
Pennsylvania in 2006. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
from Villanova University, and has studied at Oxford University in England and
the National University of Ireland, Galway.
